Software solution for the Golf 8 SOS / Emergency Call Function fault
The warning "Error: Emergency call function. Please visit a workshop." is eliminated with special software loaded onto the SOS control unit (Telematic ECU) through the OBD2 socket; depending on the customer's preference the system is either switched off or made to work again.
2020-2023Fully disabling the SOS system
The SOS emergency call function is switched off completely and the "SOS Error" / "Emergency Call Fault" messages on the display are permanently removed.
Bringing the SOS system back into service
The faulty SOS system is repaired by software and made to work again; it requires more extensive coding and labour.
