Calibration on TSI, TFSI and TDI engines; torque limits and shift strategy on the DSG side. The work is planned around the car's hardware.
Performance is data, not guesswork.
Every job is assessed with the car's current condition and hardware in mind. After calibration the relevant running parameters are checked and the result verified.
How we work
Pre-check
Diagnostic scan, fault memory and an assessment of the car's mechanical condition.
Data logging
Logs are taken on the existing software; the baseline values are kept for comparison.
Calibration
Loading software prepared for the specific car and hardware configuration.
Verification
New logs are taken and compared with the earlier data; corrected if needed.
TSI and TFSI engines
We work regularly with the 1.4, 1.5 and 2.0 litre engines in the Volkswagen group's turbo petrol family. Factory settings on these engines are written with a wide safety margin for different markets and fuel qualities.
Calibration is assessed against the car's hardware and intended use. A car with hardware changes and a completely standard car are not approached the same way.
TDI diesel engines
On 1.6 and 2.0 TDI engines the priority is torque you feel in everyday driving and a smoother response. On the diesel side, injection timing and fuel pressure are handled with particular care.
On cars with a particulate filter and emissions hardware, the operating logic of those systems is preserved.
DSG gearbox
On DSG gearboxes such as the DQ200, DQ250 and DQ381, torque limits, clutch pressures and shift strategy can be worked on. Getting the benefit of the engine-side calibration usually depends on this.
Every gearbox type has its own limit; its current condition is assessed before the work. Detail on the TCU page.
Verification
After the work, boost target and actual, lambda, ignition timing, fuel pressure and intake air temperature are checked on the logs.
The figures reached depend on fuel quality, weather conditions and hardware. We publish our measurements together with the conditions they were taken under.
